New York CNN —Tucker Carlson’s top producer, who left Fox News along with the far-right host to work on his X show, is accused of sexually assaulting a former colleague in an alleged incident that occurred more than a decade ago. Andrew Delancey, a former Fox News employee, filed a lawsuit against Justin Wells, the former executive producer of “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” accusing him of sexual assault and harassment in 2008 when Delancey moved to New York for a job with Fox News’ affiliate video service. In the lawsuit, Delancey alleges that he was befriended by Wells who told Delancey he could help him “learn the ropes” of the right-wing cable network. At the time Wells was a producer for Greta Van Susteren’s Fox News show. Fox fired Carlson in April and canceled his program during the fallout from the $787 million lawsuit settlement between Fox News and Dominion Voting Systems.

WASHINGTON (AP) — A former Fox News reporter says in a lawsuit he was targeted and fired for pushing back against false claims about the riot at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. A spokeswoman for Fox News did not immediately return an email message seeking comment on the lawsuit. Donner also debunked Tucker Carlson’s “Patriot Purge," a program on the Fox Nation streaming service that argued Jan. 6 was used as a pretext for persecution of conservative Americans. The lawsuit was first filed in Washington’s Superior Court Sept. 27 and subsequently moved to federal court. Fox also faced a lawsuit from Dominion Voting Systems and paid nearly $800 million this year to settle the case alleging that Fox knowingly promoted false conspiracy theories about the security of its voting machines.

Fox, which has maintained it is proud of its dishonest 2020 election coverage, still faces an even larger, $2.7 billion lawsuit from election technology company Smartmatic. That is the crux of our lawsuit, and we look forward to making our case in court.”A spokesperson for Fox Corporation declined to comment on the lawsuit. A spokesperson for the New York City Comptroller’s office said the pension funds held 857,000 shares of Fox Corporation stock valued at $28.10 million. Fox Corporation, led by Rupert and Lachlan Murdoch, has kept the current Fox News leadership team that oversaw the network’s lie-filled 2020 coverage in place. Earlier this year, Fox News settled a defamation case with a Venezuelan businessman who had filed a lawsuit against the company over its 2020 election coverage.

REUTERS/Mike Segar/File PhotoAug 11 (Reuters) - Fox Corp (FOXA.O) said on Friday that Chief Legal Officer Viet Dinh was stepping down, a high-profile exit that follows its $787.5 million settlement in April of a defamation lawsuit filed by Dominion Voting Systems over its 2020 U.S. election coverage. Top-rated host Tucker Carlson agreed to part ways with Fox in April, just days after the legal resolution. As part of a separation agreement, Dinh will get a lump-sum cash payment of $23 million, Fox said. He will become a special adviser to the company after leaving the role of legal head. In June, Fox Corp also settled a lawsuit by former Fox News producer Abby Grossberg, who claimed gender discrimination and accused the network's lawyers of pressuring her to make misleading statements in the Dominion Voting Systems case.

CNN —Fox Corporation on Friday said its top lawyer, Viet Dinh, will exit the company in a significant shakeup to its corporate ranks in the aftermath of the company’s historic $787 million settlement with election technology company Dominion Voting Systems. Dinh is the latest senior executive to depart after the historic Dominion settlement. Days after Fox settled the lawsuit with Dominion early this year, the company fired its star prime time host, the right-wing extremist Tucker Carlson. Dominion is just one of several high-profile lawsuits Fox has settled this year over its airing of false election conspiracy theories in 2020. In June, the network settled a lawsuit brought by former producer Abby Grossberg for $12 million.

NEW YORK, July 12 (Reuters) - An Arizona man filed a defamation lawsuit against Fox News on Wednesday, alleging the network spread a conspiracy theory that he played a key role in the violent storming of the U.S. Capitol by supporters of former U.S. President Donald Trump. This years-long campaign of disinformation, Epps claims in his suit, "destroyed" the lives of Epps and his wife. The lawsuit in Delaware state court comes as voting technology company Smartmatic is suing Fox for defamation, and several months after the company settled defamation claims brought by Dominion Voting Systems for $787.5 million. The company acknowledged the court found some Fox claims about Dominion were false. Carlson told viewers in January 2022 that Epps was a "central figure" in the attack and "helped stage-manage the insurrection," according to the lawsuit.

CNN —Three former high-ranking Fox executives are blasting Rupert Murdoch for Fox News’ role spreading disinformation in the public discourse. In a joint statement published Wednesday, the executives — Preston Padden, Ken Solomon, and Bill Reyner — expressed profound regret for their roles helping Murdoch build Fox in its early days. It’s only the latest lawsuit Fox News has faced for advancing false election conspiracy theories after Donald Trump was defeated at the ballot box in 2020. In that same month, Fox News also settled an election-related lawsuit with a Venezuelan businessman who had sued the network. Fox News is also facing another major defamation lawsuit from voting technology company Smartmatic, which is suing the network for $2.7 billion.

New York CNN —Ray Epps, the Arizona man that conspiracy theorists falsely claim led an FBI plot to orchestrate the January 6 insurrection, filed a lawsuit on Wednesday against Fox News, accusing the right-wing channel and former host Tucker Carlson of defamation. “Eventually, they turned on one of their own.”Spokespeople for Fox News did not immediately return a request for comment. “As Fox recently learned in its litigation against Dominion Voting Systems, its lies have consequences,” the lawsuit added. In that same month, Fox News also settled an election-related lawsuit with a Venezuelan businessman who had also sued the network for defamation. Fox is also facing another major defamation lawsuit from voting technology company Smartmatic, which is suing the network for $2.7 billion.

The deal follows Fox's April 18 agreement to pay Dominion $787.5 million to settle the voting-technology company's defamation suit in Delaware. In firing her, Fox said her legal claims were "riddled with false allegations against Fox and our employees." She had also sought unspecified damages in a similar lawsuit in Delaware Superior Court, which she dismissed in May. The program on which Grossberg worked, "Tucker Carlson Tonight," was the top-rated prime-time U.S. cable TV news show.

CNN —Fox News will pay $12 million to settle a pair of major lawsuits brought by former producer Abby Grossberg, her lawyer said Friday. The settlement marks the fourth case Fox and its owners have put to an end this year, including the blockbuster Dominion defamation case, where the network paid out a whopping $787 million. In addition to the Dominion saga, Grossberg claimed that she suffered through a treacherous onslaught of workplace sexism and rampant misogyny. According to the lawsuits, Grossberg witnessed flagrant use of the C-word, male colleagues openly debating which female politicians were “more f–kable,” and was asked uncomfortable sexual questions. Fox News aggressively rebutted these claims while Grossberg’s lawsuits were pending.

Fox News agreed to pay $12 million to settle a hostile workplace lawsuit from Abby Grossberg. Grossberg alleged she experienced a "sexist" environment at Fox and says lawyers coerced her testimony for Dominion's lawsuit. One lawsuit, filed in Manhattan federal court, alleged rampant workplace sexism. Grossberg withdrew her Delaware lawsuit shortly after Fox agreed to settle Dominion's lawsuit for the record-breaking sum of $787.5 million. Grossberg's case threw a wrench in the lawsuit between Dominion and Fox News.

The News Corporation headquarters, which is also home to Fox News, stands in Manhattan on April 18, 2023 in New York City. Fox News has settled another lawsuit, this time with a one-time producer for former primetime host Tucker Carlson. The Fox Corp. network agreed to pay $12 million to settle the lawsuit brought by Abby Grossberg, who alleged she was coerced into giving false testimony for the Dominion Voting Systems defamation case. Grossberg earlier this year had filed lawsuits against Fox in New York and Delaware, and had also accused the network of discrimination. Fox had earlier denied the claims by Grossberg, and explained its decision to let the producer go:

A former Tucker Carlson producer has resigned after a chyron called President Biden a "wannabe dictator." The rogue text flashed on a broadcast on Tuesday night before hastily being taken down. Alex McCaskill was a producer for Tucker Carlson before Fox fired the controversial host. McCaskill has stayed at Fox after controversial host Tucker Carlson was fired from the network on April 24. According to Carlson, the producer offered to resign with two weeks' notice but was told to leave immediately.

She later accused Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott of being complicit in the alleged coercion and claimed Fox’s lawyers deleted messages from her phone. Grossberg also made a number of eye-popping allegations about the workplace environment at Fox News, accusing the network of rampant sexism. Fox News previously said that Grossberg’s lawsuit was “riddled with false allegations.” The network repeatedly insisted that its lawyers always acted appropriately. Regardless, Grossberg’s eleventh-hour lawsuit unquestionably changed the course of Dominion’s case against Fox News, which ultimately settled for an unprecedented $787 million. Smartmatic, another election technology company suing Fox News, has also subpoenaed Grossberg to testify in its case against the network.

Trump's lawyers defamed Smartmatic with election conspiracy theories, Smartmatic says. They seek communications and files from Donald J. Trump for President, Inc., Trump's campaign vehicle for the 2016 and 2020 elections. In the subpoenas, Smartmatic asks for all communications regarding Smartmatic or Dominion — a rival election technology company also caught up in conspiracy theories — in connection with Fox News and Newsmax around the time of the 2020 election. They also ask for communication regarding appearances by Sidney Powell and Rudy Giuliani, two attorneys who advanced the conspiracy theories on behalf of the Trump campaign. The subpoenas indicate that Smartmatic seeks to penetrate the inner workings of Trump's campaign operation to understand their links with right-wing media organizations.
A former Fox News producer who has accused the network of coercing her into providing misleading testimony has dismissed one of her lawsuits against the company, at least for now. In a court filing on Friday in Delaware Superior Court, Abby Grossberg, who worked for the hosts Maria Bartiromo and Tucker Carlson, said that she was voluntarily dismissing the complaint without prejudice, which means the case can be brought again. Ms. Grossberg had claimed in the lawsuit that she had been pressured and coached by Fox’s lawyers to protect the company and lie in her sworn deposition as part of the Dominion Voting Systems case against Fox. Fox settled with Dominion for $787.5 million in April, just before the trial was about to begin in the high-profile defamation case.
The decision to dismiss the lawsuit does not mean she has settled the case, her lawyer, Tanvir Rahman, said Monday. Prior to that, she was a producer for Fox host Maria Bartiromo's Sunday morning show. Grossberg also said Fox intimidated her and fraudulently induced her to make false statements in her September 2022 deposition in the Dominion lawsuit. On April 18 Fox agreed to pay Dominion $787.5 million to settle the voting-technology company's defamation lawsuit in Delaware. Grossberg could have been a key witness had the Dominion case gone to trial.
Fox News sources told the NYT that a text message led to host Tucker Carlson's firing. But critics say the host embraced white nationalist views on his show for several years. In the text, Carlson made inflammatory remarks about violence and race. Critics of Fox News, however, say the remarks should not have come as a surprise to the network. And another likely factor in Carlson's exit was appeasing Fox shareholders in the wake of the $787.5 million settlement Fox News reached with Dominion.
A leaked video shows Tucker Carlson laughing and shouting an infamous Bill O'Reilly quote. The clip of O'Reilly having an outburst in an "Inside Edition" outtake went viral in 2008. Leaked video shows former Fox News host Tucker Carlson quoting an infamous behind-the-scenes outburst by Bill O'Reilly, another former host for the network who held Carlson's old time slot and was also pushed out. The video, obtained by the left-leaning nonprofit Media Matters, shows Carlson on the set of "Tucker Carlson Today," his show that streamed online at Fox Nation. The phrase became well known in 2008 when an outtake from O'Reilly's time at "Inside Edition" in the early 1990s surfaced online and went viral.
Tucker Carlson won concessions from Kevin McCarthy in a deal that made him House speaker, per his texts. McCarthy needed 218 votes to win his bid to become House speaker, giving him a small margin of error. The result was 14 rounds of votes that failed to produce a House speaker, making it the most contested speaker election in more than 150 years. Grossberg discussed some of the conversations between her and Carlson regarding McCarthy's House Speaker election in an interview with CNN on Tuesday night. On January 7, the House held its 15th vote for House Speaker.
New York CNN —In a newly revealed text message, ousted Fox News host Tucker Carlson made a racist comment and said he found himself briefly rooting for a mob of Trump supporters to kill a person, according to the New York Times. The text message alarmed Fox’s board of directors and played a role in Carlson’s abrupt firing last month, the paper reported. Tucker Carlson did not immediately respond to CNN’s request for comment. At the end of his text, Carlson reportedly continued that he does not condone violence. “What’s not news is the fact that Tucker Carlson is a white nationalist,” Greenblatt tweeted.
Tucker Carlson was axed by Fox News Monday, days after it settled Dominion's defamation lawsuit. Here are seven theories for why Fox News decided to part ways with Carlson. Since then, media industry insiders have been buzzing with different theories for why Carlson was pushed out. The C-wordWithin the Dominion lawsuit, there emerged a pattern of vulgar language spewed by Carlson throughout his time at Fox News. Rupert Murdoch (right) and Lachlan Murdoch at the US Open in 2018.
Fox execs were concerned about Tucker Carlson calling a female exec the c-word, the WSJ reported. The New York Times obtained video that also showed Carlson talking about women in questionable ways. The Times reported Wednesday it had also obtained video that showed Carlson speaking about women in potentially inappropriate ways. The video, in which Carlson was off-camera, captured him discussing if his "postmenopausal fans" will like how he looks on his show, the outlet said. In another video, Carlson could be heard talking about finding a woman "yummy," the Times reported.
Carlson in the videotaped statement did not directly address his departure from Fox, where he hosted the highest-rated cable news program in the key age demographic on the most-watched U.S. cable news network. Instead, he took aim at American media and the U.S. political system. "Both political parties and their donors have reached consensus on what benefits them and they actively collude to shut down any conversation about it," Carlson said. Carlson and Fox parted ways less than a week after parent company Fox Corp (FOXA.O) settled for $787.5 million a defamation lawsuit in which Carlson played a starring role. Fox fired Grossberg, saying her legal claims were "riddled with false allegations against Fox and our employees."
CNN journalist Oliver Darcy tweeted that Carlson had allegedly lost a $1,000 bet between them. Carlson called Darcy to say the CNN reporter would lose his job at the cable network, Darcy said. Oliver Darcy claimed on Tuesday that Tucker Carlson called him last year, betting $1,000 that the CNN reporter would meet a similar fate to the one he had met on Monday. "He vowed to Venmo me $1,000 if I still was employed by CNN a year later. Following over a decade at Fox News, Carlson was let go by the network 10 minutes before it released a statement.
